Road Trip, King Khan 'n' Kookies

Today we're headin' out to Rosendale, New York (kinda near Poughkeepsie) to what might be my fave house of all time for a super-cozy Thanksgiving get together. It's a semi-annual event held at Steve's Aunt and Uncle's place. It's a very eclectic, rustic kinda home, decorated in an early 1900s farmhouse style -- the kitty cats, the creeky wooden stairs, the dried flowers, the canned veggies, the whole nine yards.

We'll drink cosmos, eat boereg (an Armenian cheese filled pastry -- Uncle Dennis is Armenian), and maybe drink some home brewed aperitif after dinner. My buddy Beck is coming along, so Friday morning I'll have a partner along for the usual post-gorging morning run. (Steve will still be sleeping, I'm sure.)

Then, on Saturday we're hittin' the King Khan & the BBQ Show at the Music Hall of Williamsburg. Hipster central. Fun. Fun.

Here's a pic of the cookies I'm bringing today (along with a sweet potato and turnip gratin and a roasted brussel sprouts/mushroom dish). Pretty damn nice, huh?
