Now Available in Fine Stores Not Quite Everywhere

Just a little update: Cookie Chaos! can be found in NYC at St. Mark's Books, Mondo Kim's and It's a Mod, Mod World. It's also fer sale online at Smartpunk.com. Oh, and a few quirky shops out on the left coast have expressed interest in carrying it as well...we'll keep ya posted.

But if ya wanna keep the Punk Rock Kitchen in the black, you'll buy it direct at PunkRockKitchen.com.

Another Weekend Wasted Getting Wasted

Well, recovery from yesterday's hangover/sinus headache debilitation has subsided...sort of. It all started Friday night with me dropping off copies of Cookie Chaos! to Mondo Kim's on St. Mark's b/w 3rd and 2nd Ave. (fave L.E.S. block of poseur punk teenie boppers bussed in from the burbs). After gettin' into the drink at the Lakeside, we hit the Bowery Ballroom for a little rock 'n' roll action from the always raucous Demolition Doll Rods (hailing from Detroit Rock City) and the fabulous Hot Snakes who put on an especially pleasing performance. The new drummer (Mario, I think...) was sportin' a Spits shirt, too. Love it.

Saturday I was feelin' especially fine en route to my literacy tutoring session (believe it or not, I'm the one doin' the tutorin'!). Then it was back home to spike some punch and chop some veggies for guzzlin' 'n' munchin' later on that evening when a few pals came for a visit.

I was glassy eyed and tipsy by midnight. Once the Tom Petty hit the turntable, the party was in full swing. Not sure what happened after that....

And then came the Sunday all-day veg-out. I eventually got off the couch to whip up some muffins (with dried cherries and hazelnuts -- yum) and Rock-Out Cut-Out cookie dough for some Thanksgiving cookies I've got planned. I already snuck some from the freezer today (and I wonder what happened to my waist)...

All right, that's enough for now....

A Rare Glimpse Into The Punk Rock Kitchen

Well, it ain't Wonka's chocolate factory, but it's my own little sweet treats laboratory. The last time I made Rock-Out Cut-Outs, I took some snapshots of the meticulous process. There are also a couple non-cookie kitchen shots, like the one of The PRK's kooky kitty, Tura (named after non other than Tura Satana of Faster Pussycat Kill, Kill)....

Take a look.

Record Fair Sightings and Splitsville for Wowsville

It was a busy week and weekend for The Punk Rock Kitchen, man. I busted ass makin' Rock-Out Cut-Outs (the PRK's classic electric guitar shaped treats) to sell Saturday at the ultimate record fair that Jersey City's awesome free form radio station, WFMU, puts on every year. I didn't sell as many books or cookies as I'd hoped, but I didn't get too discouraged. After all, when record geeks are on the hunt, there ain't no stoppin' for cookies or books, baby.

As usual, there were some NYC rocker spottings: Columbus, Ohio transfer, Eric Davidson (vox for one of my all time-fave punk rock bands ever, The New Bomb Turks) was manning the Crypt Records table. Chris Robinson of Black Crowes/Kate Hudson fame slithered his boney ass up to the table next to ours. I also spotted Tom Verlaine (Television).

Later that night we headed to Magnetic Field in B'lyn to see The Newborn Naturals, our friends' band. As always, they were so damn good. They really deserve to have a big following 'cause they're just one of the best rock 'n' roll bands around right now.

After tossin' back a few brews and cocktails there, we headed back to the city to check out the final night of the 60s garage rock party type thing Alberto from Wowsville (cool li'l L.E.S. record shop) puts on. Everybody was stunned to hear the news that Wowsville's closin' its doors and Alberto's movin' back to Spain. Apparently he and his lovely wife Sonja are kaput, too, which totally sucks.

We knew it was time to call it quits aroud 3-ish when the conversation turned to glory holes. Yikes.

Cookie Chaos! Gets Gothamist Nod

Woo-hoo! How cool is this? Cookie Chaos! has made the pages of hipster NYC blog bible, The Gothamist today. Check it out.

Four More Years for Turd Sandwich

Long lines at the polls yesterday? Ha! Not in Jersey City. Crack heads and illegal immigrants don't vote.

So, Bush is back in for four more years. I'm one of those idealists who votes for third party candidates (Badnarik this time), so I don't care a whole lot either way 'cause I think Bush and Kerry both suck equally (as was reaffirmed by last week's gut-busting South Park episode). Well, at least Michael Moore and the Air America crew is sure to have work for a while longer....
